Yeronga Masters compete at Nudgee Brothers

4 swimmers represented Yeronga Masters Swimming at Nudgee Brothers long course meet on Sunday, 1 April 2012.
Glenis, Linda, Russell and Susanne enjoyed a beautiful day out with some great overall results from the meet. The highlight race saw Russell and Susanne go head to head in the 50 Fly racing in lanes 4 and 5. The old man showed he still has it, finishing by a fingernail by .12 seconds!
Russell and Susanne both took out first in their age groups, with Linda pulling in a well deserved 2nd in her’s (her efforts in the 400 and 800 Breast stroke events were sensational), and Glenis just missed out on the medals in her group, one of the most competitive groups of the day!
A special thank you to Jenn for coming along to support us, and for bringing along her camera to document the day! See below some great shots from the meet.

Congratulations on some Great Swims!

We have a number of congratulations in order!
Firstly, congratulations to Rick and his team, as well as our Chinese visitors, for their incredible efforts at the 2012 Australia Swimming Championships! It was wonderful to hear about all the great swimming in Adelaide with so many PBs, the team certainly represented Yeronga Park in a professional manner, and with great results, on the national stage. Well done to everyone involved!
Congratulations to Rob as well who was the Yeronga Masters’ sole competitor at the 2012 State Long Course Championships held in Hervey Bay 9-11 March. He made his Masters Long Course debut at this meet with some great swims. He finished 5th in the 50 Free with a 29.2; 4th in the 100 Free with a 1:04.02; and 4th in the 200 Free with a 2:28.63.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in the Wrecked Tangalooma Ocean Swim 2012 on 11 March! We heard it was a tough swim this year but the Yeronga team had some good swims and enjoyed the facilities at The Resort with the weather giving them a simply beautiful day!
Our final Congratulations go to Peter for breaking the Masters Swimming Queensland State Record for his age group in the 25m Fly in a time of 14.80! He set this record at the Miami short course meet on 26 February. Well done Pete!
